Praise
Tell God how awesome he is for who he is.
Tell God how awesome he is for what he has done.
Over the course of the week you have seen a lot of examples of how to worship and praise God. Put some of those ideas into your own language.
Kingdom Plea
Thank God that his kingdom is coming.
Thank him for his faithfulness throughout history.
Thank him for fulfilling his promise to crush the head of the serpent.
Thank him for fulfilling his promise to Abraham to make him a great nation and all the people of the world would be blessed through him.
Thank him for fulfilling his promise to Moses and the people of Israel. He upheld his end of the covenant by blessing them when they obeyed him and bringing punishment only after they rejected him and turned from him, this after sending many prophets to warn them.
Thank him for fulfilling his promise to David to have his descendent reign on the throne of Israel forever—Jesus.
Thank him for fulfilling his promise of the Messiah and for the tastes of his kingdom through Jesus and the Christian community.
Because of his faithfulness in the past we can be assured of his faithfulness in the future. Jesus will return. He will usher in the fullness of his kingdom. He will establish peace on earth. He will wipe every tear from our eyes. He will eliminate death forever. He will restore creation to harmony. He will bring unity to his church. He will return all creation to Eden.
Declare these with confidence and thankful praise.
Personal Plea
Thank God for his provision.
Thank him for work.
Prayerfully consider whose needs in our community you are equipped to meet. Perhaps God has blessed you with resources as an answer to someone else's prayer for provision.
Repentance
Are you harboring unforgiveness towards anyone who has offended you? Forgive them like God has forgiven you. Release them from the obligation owed to you, from their debt. If you have a deep wound, write out a letter of forgiveness to the person who wronged you. Maybe you'll send it, maybe you won't, but it's good to write it up.
Spiritual Protection
Thank the Father for giving us the weapons to fight against the enemy. Thank him for the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. (See Ephesians 6:10-20)
And remember to pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.
